The Jim Bacon Foundation addresses a range of needs, particularly for people experiencing financial difficulties, as they are identified by the individuals involved and at the discretion of those providing care, including:

• information to help people when they are diagnosed with cancer, to prepare for, and cope with, their treatment;
• aids and equipment, furniture, clothing, travel expenses, and accommodation for patients and/or their family; and
• assistance with costs incurred during treatment, and special needs to provide quality home care.

In the longer term, the Foundation will work towards contributing to new accommodation facilities for cancer patients and their families who have to travel long distances for their treatment.

The Foundation has five board members.
